Vision Meetings

8 07 2009

Wsup awesome people! Just want to give you an update on what’s next with Elevation. After a couple months of taking the summer off I am convinced that it was one of the best things we could have done. We have had time for rest, innovation, preparation, and vision. I have never felt better about the direction and clarity of our ministry! I know we are all going to be blown away by what God does this upcoming year! I CANNOT wait!

Now it’s time for YOU to step up! On Aug. 2 & Aug. 9 we will have meetings at the church at 7:00 p.m. for those that want to help out with Elevation this semester. These meetings are for those of you that want to serve and be apart of Elevation. Don’t miss out on your chance to be apart of  a movement! It takes all of us to play our part. It’s no fun sitting on the sidelines of what God is doing.

Here are some other important dates:

Aug. 15: Freshman Move In at CBC

Aug. 16: Freshman Move In at UCA

Aug. 17-Aug.21: Welcome Week at UCA

Aug. 23: First Elevation Service!

I am so fired up about what is coming!

Summer Reading Pick: July

4 07 2009

celebration-of-discipline

I would recommend you read Celebration of Discipline

By Christian theologian Richard Foster.

Prepare yourself to be challenged. This book examines the inward disciplines of prayer, fasting, meditation, and study in the Christian life, the outward disciplines of simplicity, solitude, submission, and service, and the corporate disciplines of confession, worship, guidance, and celebration. It has sold over one million copies. It was named by Christianity Today as one of the top ten books of the twentieth century.

Make the most of your summer with some good reading. Let us know your thoughts on it.
